Lawn Maintenance: As members of the Western Turf Grass Association it is important to provide the highest standard of turf grass maintenance.  Our trained and skilled staff provides lawn maintenance including fertilizing, aeration, renovations and overseeding.

Weed Maintenance: Our weed maintenance crew keeps your property at a level of maintenance set by the client.  Properties are always kept clean and tidy.  Our thorough service includes identification and control of weeds including invasive species, pruning and removal of dead, damaged and diseased plant material and on-going Integrated Pest Maintenance Program.

For clients that live out town we offer local property management.

Municipal Landscaping

In the last nine years, we have developed a department which deals directly with the City of Nanaimo Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments. 

Easy Living Landscaping has acquired on-going contracts such as roadside construction, Nanaimo cemetery landscape maintenance, Nanaimo Aquatic Centre landscape maintenance, Nanaimo Ice Centre landscape maintenance, various lawn and garden maintenance and the watering of the medians, annual baskets and downtown planters.  

The City of Nanaimo sets very high standards and strict guidelines regarding the contractual work.  In order to work with the City of Nanaimo our staff requires certifications and qualifications, such as:

Certified Horticulturist

Certified Irrigation Technicians

British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association: Playground Safety Awareness

WHMIS

Pesticide Applicator Certification

Bobcat / Skid Steer Certification

Occupational First Aid Certification

Core Program / Up to date Safety Program

Although not required Easy Living Landscaping Staff have received level one CPTED (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design) certification.  The City of Nanaimo incorporates these design standards in their capital projects and renovations.

Annual Flower Display Beds and Watering

Each year Easy Living Landscaping undertakes the design and installation of annual flower beds around the City of Nanaimo.  Seasonal displays act as a backdrop to Nanaimo’s busy tourist sites. 

Included in the seasonal display are the annual hanging flower baskets, which we maintain and water.  You will see the Easy Living Landscaping watering truck in areas such as downtown Nanaimo, Beban Park, Bowen Park, city medians and Nanaimo Aquatic Centre.

Commercial Systems:

Easy Living Landscaping employees certified irrigation technicians and takes pride in maintaining current industry standards.  Our crews regularly install large systems with the latest technology.  As members of IIABC, we follow specifications and standards.

Residential Systems:

One of the most costly mistakes in developing an irrigation system is poor design.  Our designer carefully determines all aspects of the system before anything in the field is started.  You will receive ‘As Built’ drawings and full instructions on how to operate your irrigation system.

Express Blower Truck

Easy Living Landscaping has acquired an Express Blower.  This pneumatic application equipment has the ability to efficiently apply compost, mulches, soil blends, aggregates up to 1" in size, and wood chips at great distances.

Mulch Applications:

Blown-on applications uses less material than spreading by hand.  With the remote control, the volume of output can be easily adjusted to a minimum flow for spreading around delicate flowers or turned up higher for more wide open areas.

Terraseeding™:

The Express Blower Truck can apply soil mix, fertilizer, and grass seed in one easy application to produce a beautiful lawn.  In a fraction of the time it takes to install a lawn the old-fashion way, it can accomplish the same task with more consistent results.

Erosion Control:

Keep soil in its place with EcoBlanket™, proven as one of the most effective methods available to stop erosion in its tracks, an EcoBlanket™ replaces the natural layer of humus that protects undisturbed soils.  Additionally, an EcoBerm® can be used virtually anywhere silt fence is used.  Unlike silt fence, however, an EcoBerm® has been proven to be 99% effective, is entirely organic, easily installed, requires little or no maintenance, and doesn't need to be torn down and discarded in a landfill.

Safety Surfaces and Mud Control:

Covering park or playground areas with safety surface chips require special attention and minimum interruption and the Blower Truck can access areas where use of heavy equipment is prohibitive.

Mud control is the ability to blow mulch or sawdust around the foundations and pathways at new construction sites. Workers stay drier and work more efficiently without tracking mud into the work area.

Bobcat, Excavation Work and Trucking

Bobcat:

Our qualified bobcat operators can make quick work of applying soil, sand, gravel etc. on projects.

Excavation:

Our excavation work includes trenching, grading, placement of material for retaining walls.

Either bobcat or excavation work is necessary in extensive landscape installation or renovation applications.

Trucking:

We can deliver products to your doorstep. 

Our single-axle dump truck allows us to keep our own schedules for delivery of products, which means time and money saved on projects.

We can complete your yard clean up and hauling as well.
